I love encouraging others to keep chooks. A lovely friend of mine has been planning to get day old chicks for a long time now. I loaned her my broody cage and all the miniature feeders. Their chook pen was nearly ready and they were planning to get their day olds on the weekend.
The boys came round to visit my little ones and I had the bright idea that the family might like to 'borrow' a broody hen to put their day olds under instead of a lamp.
And here she is...all settled in to her temporary home with her new bubs which hatched on the same day as mine at Chicks R Us.
And another family is converted to the world of poultry. Now we have just got to get her keeping ducks too and life will be complete.

I love that you have farmed out your broody - if you know anyone else that wants one our Marjie is up to it. I thought about this last year and had lots of funny posts on the forum about it. I'm still keen on ducks too after reading about yours.
