Vegie garden October 2006
Last year I bought 'Kitchen Garden Cooking with Kids' by Stephanie Alexander. Five years ago she started the Kitchen Garden Foundation and has a diary of the project as an inspiration for others to follow. The kids and I created a vegie garden. We planted rocket, tomatoes, parsley, basil, strawberries, cucmber, eggplant and carrots. Sunflower and Cosmos seeds have been sown and are beginning to sprout. I told the man in the bookstore he could come over to lunch just as soon as my garden looked like Stephanie's. I will let you know when we harvest our first vegies. Simon is looking forward to eating his 'Bunny Ball Carrots' which are round like radishes. So far I think the weeds are doing better than the plants.
