I am much more interested in face-blindness. Prosopagnosia, also known as face-blindness, is when you are unable to recognise other humans by their faces in spite of having good eye sight. I have always struggled to recognise people by their faces, especially new faces. When my daughter was born I used a slight imperfection on her ear to identify her as mine rather than any facial features. So when I saw an episode of Catalyst last night on prosopagnosia I wanted to know if I really did have a problem with face recognition. I don't have as severe a problem as some of the people on the program who were unable to recognise even their own reflection. However I was interested to know how I compared with the rest of the population.
So I sat the online Vision, Memory and Face Recognition tests. The tests assess your ability to remember and recognize faces, objects and names. At the end my performance was compared to the average person. While I didn't score in the lowest range I certainly scored badly enough to confirm that I find recognising faces more difficult than nearly all of the general population.
So don't be surprised if I meet you in the street and don't recognise you the next time I see you.

That was an interesting test. I couldn't imagine not recognising people by faces, for me I am not so great with names, but faces I am good wiht and this test showed it, I got only 1 face wrong. intersting indeed, thanks for sharing
I scored on the 9th percentile!
I did well in the object recognition and ok in the name recognition but very badly in face recognition.
I would probably recognise you but only if you had a camera in front of your face!!
Hi lucy, Ill never be able to find my glassesLOL But I was way up on names...very interesting
