Today is the first day of the rest of my life. Well...maybe.Yesterday my daughter and I carefully stuck a 'No Junk Mail' sticker on our letterbox. For many this may seem like an easy thing to do but for our family it is a monumentous occassion.
It would be fair to describe The Blue Mountains Menagerie as somewhat addicted to reading catalogues. Toy catalogues for the little people, electronics for the Dad and department store brochures for the Mum. The kids have even taken to reading the Supermarket prices.
The catalogues are delivered by kids from a family at school. And they know where we live!
Will they throw eggs at our house in disgust? I don't think so.
Will they be unemployed as a result of my decision? Not likely.
Will the sticker stop the flow of junk mail? I hope so but I don't know.
Will my decision change the world? No, but it might encourage me not to covet the useless junk in the endless parade of brochures that pass through my hands on the way to the recycling bin.

I remember walking for miles in the rain and snow to deliver junk mail when I was a kid! I hated it and use to wish that everyone had those No Junk Mail stickers! LOL

You'll get used to it and wont miss it in time :)
when we moved 3 years ago to here it already had a sticker on it. Its great not having the extra paper waste!
