We have participated in Earth Hour since it began in Sydney in 2007. This year the kids made candles out of bees wax courtesy of the lovely ladies at Queen B. They were teaching people how to roll candles at a special expo at Sydney Town Hall. It was great fun, quick and, best of all, it was FREE!!! The lovely ladies were very informative about why bees wax is the only kind of wax we should use for our candles. Well worth reading the reasons HERE. I really loved the Eco-bulb but the Beecups and Wedding Cake are gorgeous too. The Duck Herder keeps bees and you can read about her adventures in the hive HERE. I'd love to keep bees one day but since I have only recently overcome my bee phobia I think it will be a while until that day.
